The nourish team met at The Swan in Loddon for a relaxed mezze lunch. Under chef Jason Wright, The Swan has become a destination for both Loddon and the surrounding area. With live music on selected weekends, plus comfortable rooms to stay in, The Swan has much to offer. 

We went for the ‘perfect with a pint’ menu, choosing to share some plates: ham hock fritters with crispy hen egg and piccalilli; shell on prawns with lemon and dill mayo; and beer battered coley fritters with triple cooked chips and tartare sauce. All were excellent – with the fish and chips just pipping the others to the post as the team favourite! 

Also on offer were flatbreads with assorted toppings, which sounded delicious, plus a full menu covering everything from heirloom tomato tart to sticky toffee pudding! 

The service was great, and done with a smile. The only downside was that we were driving so there was no chance to enjoy one of the many tempting gins behind the bar – next time!
