The nourish team met at The Swan in Loddon for a relaxed mezze lunch. Under chef Jason Wright, The Swan has become a destination for both Loddon and the surrounding area. With live music on selected weekends, plus comfortable rooms to stay in, The Swan has much to offer. 

We went for the ā€˜perfect with a pint’ menu, choosing to share some plates: ham hock fritters with crispy hen egg and piccalilli; shell on prawns with lemon and dill mayo; and beer battered coley fritters with triple cooked chips and tartare sauce. All were excellent – with the fish and chips just pipping the others to the post as the team favourite! 

Also on offer were flatbreads with assorted toppings, which sounded delicious, plus a full menu covering everything from heirloom tomato tart to sticky toffee pudding! 

The service was great, and done with a smile. The only downside was that we were driving so there was no chance to enjoy one of the many tempting gins behind the bar – next time!
