As we wave goodbye to an unusually mild autumn, it is time to say hello to winter. As well as wearing fluffy jumpers and digging out warm scarfs, it also means it is time to get stuck into the big hearty soups, casseroles, roasts, and warming puddings.
For those digging out their slow cooker or soup maker, Giddens & Thompson has all you need to make easy family meals around your busy lives. We have the very best fresh fruit and vegetables available, so much of which comes from our lovely local suppliers. We have all you could need, and more, to help you make delicious, nutritious food for just one person or a whole gathering of family and friends.
As we move further into December, we will have fresh cherries, cranberries, little boxes of clementines, Brussels sprout stalks, chestnuts, walnuts, dates, and other Christmas treats. We will also have an abundance of fresh fruit and vegetables to make your Christmas really special.
For those who have been enjoying my Clean Green and Immune Boosting juices made freshly in the shop, I will be making a festive cranberry, orange, and pomegranate juice – perfect to keep you going as you shop the wonderful independent stores in Bungay.
One thing I love about this time of year is making up beautiful hampers, which make a lovely Christmas gift for someone special. We can make these as personal as you like; just get in touch and leave us to do the rest.
We continue to offer veg box deliveries every week, delivering anywhere within an eight-mile radius of Bungay. Boxes start from £10, and you can either place your order online or leave it up to us to choose a lovely seasonal box for you, full of the freshest flavours of the season.
Our Giddens & Thompson elves will be busy delivering Christmas orders between 21 December and the morning of Christmas Eve. Again, you can book these through the website, or download our festive order form and drop it in. We will then have your Christmas order ready for you on your designated day.
With all this in mind, there is no escaping that Christmas is on its way. I truly love this time of year, and I always look forward to it. It really is magical, with twinkling lights, pretty windows, carol singing, and, of course, mulled wine!
