time to indulge

When it comes to afternoon tea, The Rupert Brooke, part of Chestnut, has something to write home about.

Whether you are a visitor to Cambridge or a walker exploring Grantchester, this popular destination pub welcomes all—including furry friends!

Upon stepping through the front door, you will be met by a vibrant, contemporary interior coupled with an inviting, friendly atmosphere.

Widely known for their local, seasonal menu, The Rupert Brooke has recently launched an afternoon tea experience, served between 3.30pm and 5pm, Wednesday to Saturday.

The culinary team has curated a selection of treats, drawing inspiration from the surrounding Grantchester meadows, with a nod to the scholars and poets that Cambridge is so famous for.

Guests can sample an array of delicate finger sandwiches and smoked cheddar and tomato
quiche, or dive into freshly baked scones, accompanied by clotted cream and homemade preserves.
Of course, no afternoon tea experience would be complete without an assortment of delicious pastries and sweet treats, such as miniature carrot, walnut and elderflower cake with cream cheese frosting, raspberry and rose éclair with Chantilly cream, or lemon thyme macaron.

For those special occasions, guests can upgrade their afternoon tea to include a bottle of something cold and fizzy.

The Rupert Brooke offers you lots of places to enjoy your afternoon tea. Choose to unwind outside on
the roof terrace, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying picturesque views, or find a spot in our bright
and airy conservatory.

The perfect treat for a loved one, or just an afternoon spent unwinding with family and friends while escaping the hustle and bustle, book your afternoon tea now.

Afternoon teas must be booked a minimum of 24 hours in advance. Choose from our Ten to Three Cream Tea for £22 per guest or our Afternoon Tea with locally produced Saffron Grange fizz for £32 per guest.
