a date with a legend!

Old Hall Farm in Woodton share their delicious recipes made by none other than James Martin. These perfect desserts, ideal for all year around, are made using their raw Jersey milk and cream. Rebecca Mayhew tells nourish how they ended up on ITV one Saturday morning.

Earlier this year, we were lucky enough to be interviewed by the legend that is James
Martin and were featured on his ITV programme Saturday Morning with James Martin.

James had heard about our agroecological farming methods, and the special way that we treat our cows and calves – they stay together for up to 12 months instead of being separated at birth. They asked us to send some sample products from our Jersey farm for him to try and, needless to say, they were a big hit! Having passed the initial test, James interviewed us for the show.

I have always been a big fan of James and can report back that he is just as lovely as he appears on screen. Our dairy produce was quoted as being “the best in the UK”, a huge accolade for our little dairy.

On the show, James made two iconic dishes – crème caramel and crème brûlée. We have special permission to use these dishes in our restaurant, and it is a delight to be able to share them with readers of nourish as well.

Our fabulous Jersey milk and cream really do make these dishes sing out, and they are a lovely luxurious way to finish a special meal.

I hope you enjoy making – and eating – them as much as we enjoyed our time with James.
