The Launch of the Jarrold Food Hall

Fun and food were the main ingredients at the launch of the newly developed Jarrold Food Hall, which was held on the Lower Ground Floor of the iconic Norwich department store on Wednesday 14 September.

Bringing together food producers, chefs and other culinary professionals alongside Jarrold colleagues and contractors, the evening event was buzzing with conversation and excitement at the recent changes.

The new Food Hall showcases an eclectic range of food and drink from the local area and beyond as well as Jarrold Own Brand, which was released in 2019. One of the highlights was the specially equipped Cheese Room, dedicated to artisanal, handmade cheeses and featured an aged-to-perfection array of local as well as further afield cheeses. Knowledgeable experts were on hand to offer advice and tips for the perfect cheeseboard.

The new Cheese and Charcuterie Bar offers an expanded delicatessen space and seating for over 20 people, and will definitely be utilised for those shoppers needing a moment of respite as well as food themed events.

John Adams, Managing Director thanked guests for joining them on the evening, particularly considering recent national events, and noted the dedication, time and effort put in by many of those in attendance.

With local partners Chef Richard Bainbridge and Andrew Jones in attendance offering samples of their delicious ranges, the evening allowed guests to taste a variety of food as well as canapés and pizzas provided by Jarrold restaurants.

Many guests left feeling excited at the opening of Norwich’s new foodie destination, with many commenting on the diverse gathering of fresh fare and elevated food cupboard staples as well as ideas for Christmas feasting.
